ㅤhi there! you can call me wren. my rules for interacting are pretty simple: have fun & don't be a weenie. please ask me before discussing my character ic, or let me know. i've seen several occasions where my character has been mentioned in a manner that does take away consent regarding my personal story, as well as mentioning characters i have retconned - but if you want to be involved or aware of Qih's past, then it's storylines that I'd love to share with you! it makes stories way more dynamic.my rules and interacting are the way that they are after 20+ years of roleplaying and shaped by everything I, or my characters, have been exposed to.i might come across as harsh as to my rules and how i respond to certain interactions - i have a tendency to speak bluntly and am very unaware of it when it's happening, sorry!. i am actually very friendly and love to make new friends/get along with people.tldr: some characters will be combative/snarky/defensive or not get along with mine and that's fine as long as you're chill ooc and make me aware! i'm just very tired of being used as a verbal punching bag by the people who are using their ocs as a vehicle for their ooc dislike. for the most part, 90% of what i've written here does not apply to the general rp community and i love u all <3

- i am begging y'all to stop making jokes about qih being surrounded by men. it's disrespectful and only serves one purpose, and i wasn't born yesterday. i cannot help what gender/race my friends choose to play nor will i disparage them from doing so. what you might think is a funny observation is not, and i shouldn't have to have my character sit there and justify why she has so many friends (especially of a certain gender) for the 700th time.- i expect combative/argumentative roleplay to be done with the same respect i offer to your character especially on an ooc level. if your first response to my characters defending themselves is to try and belittle them/throw out ic racism without discussing it with me first so i'm aware, we're not going to vibe and i don't want to interact with you. i've seen this one too many times over the last few months, sorry.- i am an autistic roleplayer and have a tendency to be literal. i will always make it very clear in my emotes if their voice takes on any kind of tone indicator. anything otherwise is my character speaking neutrally! (but depending on the conversation, i will be trying to interact with you ooc to make sure we're on the same page!)

please be over the age of 21 - i am a writer in my thirties.all sorts of content are fine. my favourite genres are romance, body horror, and everything wild! i do not do so well with slice of life.i am fine with feasible lore bending. as long as it's still within the realms of magic and you're not a god from the fifteenth dimension, we'll be rad.if you don't like to walk up, don't be afraid of sending me a /tell! don't be a weirdo / overly sexual, especially not ooc.understand that if you sit there and have your characters loudly make comment while targeting mine, she WILL respond. if you don't like this, then stop doing it. yes, you know who you are.if i've asked you to not interact with me, that means no longer having your character acknowledge mine, not even for snarky comments. respect the boundary i've laid down.no character killing/maiming without my consent.ooc drama over a nothingburger is silly, but it's going to happen. everyone has feelings behind the screen and i won't pretend they don't for the sake of roleplay - if something i've done or said ic has rubbed you the wrong way, or i've misinterpreted it, i would RATHER KNOW and smooth things over!no being weirdly oversexual, especially in regards to Qih's story - this includes shitty ooc comments, or i'll just blacklist you so we can both be happy :)i am not opposed to character conflict - however, if you're going to go this route, do me the honour of being polite and respectful enough to be friendly ooc and being open to resolving issues (whether it be agreeing to leave one another alone, or getting to know one another) - my character is not there to be a verbal punching bag (and yes, this is even if your character is 'just like that'.)

IMPORTANT PORTRAYAL NOTES

Any combat with Qih is easier done free-form than with rolls, but I am amenable to both - though she isn't one to just get into a fight*** and is more likely to stick her nose back in her book. As a mage, she has very little hand to hand/melee combat experience and is a glass cannon - she will only get stronger the more she gets hurt! I do enjoy fight RP but I love things to be spectacular and theatrical, and am there as much to support whoever I am sparring with as a writer to create something amazing rather than a quick brawl.
*** - She does enjoy sparring as a friendly bout, or for the sake of learning how to handle those who are proficient at hand to hand combat/melee!
Qih has a tendency to be a bit of a wallflower, though she may make idle commentary here and there! I am aware many people don't know how to interact with wallflowers and rest assured I'm not bored by her lounging - but if you need me to initiate, I happily will do!
She is easy to fluster and very bashful. However, as a young Priestess and a Keeper, she also knows her worth. Be kind to her.

BIOGRAPHY

Born in the waning summer moons in the depths of the Shroud to the Chieftess and her mate of twenty years, Qih proved to be both simultaneously quiet and boisterous from the very start.An easy babe to raise given her propensity to keep herself quiet happy, and yet able to let out a screaming cry loud enough to rock the heavens at the drop of the hat, as the baby of the family for a solid ten years of her life she was bullied and adored in equal measure, and found herself happy to lose herself in books and studies. With seemingly little to no magic talent bar a strange inkling and affinity toward animals, her parents once mused if she would join some of their other kin in scholarly pursuits; However, an accident in her childhood years first sparked awareness of her talents for haemomancy when she fell from a great height and wounded her leg - and in her distress created her beloved Carbuncle, adoringly named Kipkip. Over time, he has grown alongside her to the point where he has the ability to manifest as he wills and without her summon.Once discovered, and with gentle guidance, she threw herself easily into the art of summoning - albeit with a twist. Though others say they do not quite understand what she means when she speaks with her animals, the truth is as simple as she offers it - and with careful study of a beast over time she manages to break it down to logical blocks, meshing her fondness for beasts together with her once latent talents. This and her training as a priestess of Menphina occupied most of her time, and it was not unheard of for her to keep to herself even during ceremonies with other tribes - something that oft caught the attention of wayward gazes, much to her amusement.Life was easy enough. Their village was one of peace and prosperous bonding with others - until a plague swept through. Horrifying and cruel, it devastated the tribes population and left them with just under half of their numbers, forcing them to struggle to keep up with the funeral rites. Qih found herself thrust into the role of Priestess full before she had finished her training and before she was of age, and though she never particularly admits it the tragedy that snatched the lives of her brothers and some of her closest bonds within the tribe devastated her and haunts her still. Instead, determined to provide comfort to others, she wears a smile, and turns instead to her chosen patron, seeking comfort in that way, too.The plague had a more cruel effect, still. Distraught, birthing rates went down and men were rarer still. Other tribes refused to help, deeming the tribe to be cursed - already partially having believed so with the birth of the Chieftess' second daughter - and avoiding them at all costs.With an aging population and no kits born since the year after the plague hit, the situation is dire. With the number of huntresses at a low, and tradesmen to keep doing business with passing merchants, and the constant threat of bandits and poachers alike, Qih's tribe is dying - and so she and her eldest sister were sent from the Shroud as emissaries so that they might find suitors and those seeking a home alike so that they do not see their life crumble into obscurity.With her sister sent to the East, it is here, in the West that Qih's story truly begins - an opportunity to grow and learn in lands anew when she has never so much as left the forest before...
